STORY OF THE BEEF

As a 4th generation cattle rancher, our family has worked hard to produce a safe, quality product for your family.  My Great Grandfather started our ranch in the 1930's and it has been family owned and operated for the last 90 years. Mineral Mountain Cattle Co was established in 2007 to produce high quality bulls and to offer beef direct to consumers.

Brandon Yardley was raised in Milford Utah, mostly on horseback, or operating farm equipment.  He left for education and work after high school. He returned to the ranch in 2005. Today with his dad, mom, his wife Kjirsta, their 4 children, and two great employees, they farm 2000 acres mostly of alfalfa, corn and small grains.  They also have a 500 head  cow/calf business, and operate a feedlot.  They have always raised a few steers for beef, and they are proud to expand this part of business and offer quality homegrown grass fed, corn finished, hormone free beef for your family.

FAQ

  • Where do I pick my beef up from?
    • The beef will be processed in a USDA inspected facility in Tooele and then picked up and delivered to South Jordan, Utah. We will call you with date and time of when the beef is expected and you can pick up the boxes.
    • We are currently taking reservations for June. After your order is received, Brandon will ship the beef to the processor at the beginning of June and then late June we will call you when it is ready, it takes 3 weeks or so to hang and age correctly, so your beef is at peak tastiness
  • Is this grass-fed Beef?
    • My cattle are grass-fed for 8 months then fed in a feedlot for 6-10 months, fed hay and corn raised on our farm in Milford
    • Corn fed cattle marble better, yield better, and taste better
    • Grass-fed beef can be grain-fed for 90 days and still be marketed as grass-fed
